I-House Exodus

i housemove 007 thumb I House Exodus As the academic year comes to an end, the annual migration out of the International House (“I-House”) for Berkeley graduate students was scheduled to take place on Friday, May 23. That included four (4) of our students in ISM. Needless to say, we would not let our fellow brothers and sisters carry their burdens…. or their books, clothes, and belongings by themselves. i housemove 005 thumb I House ExodusBringing our bodies, vans and cars, we went to the I-House at 6:30pm on Thursday night to help them move. The four of them were very appreciative of our help–so they bought us some Extreme Pizza for dinner. The pizza was great. Extremely great. And, it was fun hanging out at the front entrance of the I-House. (no, we did not look too strange)

i housemove 001 thumb I House ExodusEating took about 30 minutes, so we started the move at 7pm. Altogether, we had about 15 people moving 4 people’s stuff out of I-House. While the students did not have that much stuff (thankfully), having a lot of people helped speed up the moving process a lot. The whole move from beginning to the end took only 2 hours. Josiah later commented that we finished the move in 20 minutes–a move which would have taken him 6 hours. In reply to his comment, I said: “That’s the power of the body of Christ.” (Either that or its the muscles of the body of Christ.)
