A Night Out in the City

Taking advantage of the fact that school hasn’t started yet, we headed out to the City after Friday Forum at the YWCA. What would winter be without some winter activities like ice-skating? We went to Yerba Buena Gardens’ ice skating rink and hit the ice, literally. Some of us ended up with some bruises while others seemed pretty comfortable on the ice and even tried to skate backwards. After some time on the ice, we went to get some ice cold milkshakes and deep fried yumminess at Mel’s Diner. Mmmm.

LBNL Moon Festival Outing

3977814489 904f561348 m LBNL Moon Festival OutingAfter our Friday Forum message entitled, “Why Am I So Stressed?”, we headed out to Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory to enjoy the view…  and relieve some stress.  (also known as relax)  It was a perfect day to head up to LBNL as the clouds and fog were nowhere to be found–we had a perfect view of Berkeley, San Francisco, and the Bay Bridge.  And it was all perfectly lit up by a perfectly full moon!  It was a gorgeous view, and so we took a lot of photos from the LBNL plaza overlooking the view. Giants Baseball Outing

3970419954 79cf1ab1f1 m Giants Baseball OutingThis past Tuesday we went to AT&T Park to watch the San Francisco Giants play against the Diamond-backs. It was a perfectly clear night although a bit on the cold side. For many of us, this was the first time going to a baseball game in America. And what a game to go to! Once the home runs began, they just didn’t seem to let up! By the end of the night, we counted six home runs and one almost – where the ball went deep into left field and just barely grazed past the fence until it was somehow stopped by a lurching outfielder upon whom it then made a bizarre landing. The final score: Giants 8, D-backs 4. Overall, we had a fun time watching the game together, enjoying the fresh hot garlic fries, and cheering for our local team.
