Join us for our weekly summer bible study in Alameda. We will have Bible Study starting with dinner at 7pm. Rides will be provided at 6:30pm from Barrows. This past Sunday (5/1), we had Gracepoint’s Commissioning Service at Gracepoint Berkeley. As you may be aware, we will be planting three Gracepoint churches this year at the University of Minnesota, UC Riverside and at UC San Diego. Our very own Jesse and Mia will be leaving for San Diego and Minnesota, respectively. The vision of Gracepoint is to have “an Acts 2 community in every college town” (and one day we hope to have an IGSM in every college town). Each of the members on the church planting team (including Mia and Jesse) shared their thoughts on how they caught this vision and a snapshot of Gracepoint that they would like to replicate. April 25, 2010- Our own Daniel and Hui got baptized with 20 others at Gracepoint Berkeley after becoming Christian in 2008 at the IGSM Winter Retreat. We rejoiced together as we recounted how God personally answered and addressed their questions and doubts, how God led Hui’s parents to salvation, and how God has continued to mold and shape them as they help other people to know Him. It was amazing to see their long journey and how God used the Bible, other people, and different examples from their lives to show them about His character especially through Daniel’s job search and PhD admission. I was personally awed to recount their journey from when they first joined the IGSM English Class many years ago. If you missed Hui’s testimony, you can read it here at Gracepoint Stories. We will be having the Church Plant Commissioning Service this Sunday (5/2) at Willard Auditorium at 10:30am for all our church plant team members who will be leaving soon to help plant churches in Minnesota, Riverside and San Diego. Please come as several IGSM members (Jesse, Mia, Kevin and Gina) will get commissioned at this service. The service will be followed by a BBQ lunch (yummy!!).

Join us for our baptism service as several of our own IGSM students get baptized. Come and hear their stories of how they became Christians.
We will be having a baptism this Sunday. A baptism is where a Christian makes a public profession of their faith. And this weekend, Samanthu Lu, one of our very own will be sharing how she became a Christian. So come join us for this memorable occasion.

Many of us started the new year by going to a retreat (an extended time away from our normal surroundings to study the Bible) with Gracepoint Berkeley church at the Mount Hermon Retreat Site. Over one weekend we listened to thought provoking Bible messages from the examples of people in the Bible such as Saul, Samson, the Rich Young Man, and Pilate. Older ones from the church also shared about their personal journey with God and how the Bible verses guided them at each step as they studied and struggled to live based on them. Many of us were challenged and encouraged to grow in vision and believe the promises of God, just like the ones he gave to Abraham.
Come join us for our Thanksgiving Service and Celebration on 11/22 at Kofman Auditorium. This is a time to get together to eat some good food (think turkey), sing and dance (have fun), and thank God for all the ways that He has been good to us. Hope that you can join us. International Graduate Student Ministry (IGSM) is an official graduate student group at UC Berkeley. IGSM started in the fall of 2003 with the vision to help all UC Berkeley graduate students from various countries (including students from the United States) find out the true meaning and purpose of their lives through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Many of us also attend Gracepoint Berkeley, where Pastor Ed and Kelly Kang lead the ministry.
