Come join us for one of IGSM’s biggest events of the year in the 2012 IGSM Winter Retreat, with Pastor Jonathan Lee as our main speaker! This is a time when we have a chance to take a break from all the day-to-day activities, and to experience and deepen our personal relationships with God. Whether you’ve been a Christian for many years, or are simply trying to find out more about Christianity, this event should hopefully address your concerns and questions in a deep, personal, and meaningful way. This is also a chance for you to enjoy fellowship with other international students, and enjoy delicious food! The cost for attending the retreat is to be determined. IGSM will be having a Thanksgiving Party the Friday before Thanksgiving to celebrate the holiday. We will have a special speaker, Prof. Luke Lee from the Department of Bioengineering, and also a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. Afterward, we will enjoy some performances by our fellow IGSM members. Come join us for a fun night and to give thanks for the past year!

In part I of our new message series “Jesus – A Miracle Maker,” Dr. Chul Kim laid the foundation of Jesus as the Lamb of God–a historical figure whose life events are recorded in the Gospel books (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John). After discussing the historical authenticity of the Gospels, Chul painted a picture of our lives engulfed in darkness and sin, which manifests itself in our failure to recognize our maker. Sin also has serious consequences, ultimately resulting in the loss of life. It is Jesus (whose birth was the greatest miracle) who brought us life–out of the darkness and into the light–and apart from whom no one can save us.

Friday Forum Podcast – Dating and Marriage Talk – Genesis 24 (10/8/10)

In light of May Zhao’s wedding ceremony held the following Saturday, many students joined us for a special talk on the Biblical perspective of dating and marriage. Exploring the love story of Isaac and Rebekah in Genesis 24, Sharon discussed how God concretely answers prayers and delights in providing for each person a spouse according to his/her character and spiritual needs. After encouraging us with concrete tips on how to prepare for a marriage commitment, she addressed several tough questions submitted by our own students. Particularly, Sharon shared honest details from her own dating and marriage relationship with her husband Chul, as well as the invaluable advice from the married staff within IGSM.
