In part I of our new message series “Jesus – A Miracle Maker,” Dr. Chul Kim laid the foundation of Jesus as the Lamb of God–a historical figure whose life events are recorded in the Gospel books (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John). After discussing the historical authenticity of the Gospels, Chul painted a picture of our lives engulfed in darkness and sin, which manifests itself in our failure to recognize our maker. Sin also has serious consequences, ultimately resulting in the loss of life. It is Jesus (whose birth was the greatest miracle) who brought us life–out of the darkness and into the light–and apart from whom no one can save us.

In light of May Zhao’s wedding ceremony held the following Saturday, many students joined us for a special talk on the Biblical perspective of dating and marriage. Exploring the love story of Isaac and Rebekah in Genesis 24, Sharon discussed how God concretely answers prayers and delights in providing for each person a spouse according to his/her character and spiritual needs. After encouraging us with concrete tips on how to prepare for a marriage commitment, she addressed several tough questions submitted by our own students. Particularly, Sharon shared honest details from her own dating and marriage relationship with her husband Chul, as well as the invaluable advice from the married staff within IGSM.
