This past Saturday, we drove out to Point Reyes to hike along to Palomarin Trail to reach our destination of Alamere Falls. Our 8 mile (round trip) hike took us to see lakes, wild flowers, the beautiful Pacific Coast , and lush landscapes. Some people even commented that it was like Narnia. Towards the end of the trail, obstacles of dense brush, poison oak, and steep slopes met us, but we were undeterred and reached our destination. The day started out overcast and foggy, but like typical Bay area weather, the skies cleared up in the afternoon as we reached the waterfall transforming the gray skies into blue. After eating and playing at the beach, we headed back to see the coast again and then onto Ranch 99 for dinner. Click on read more to see the pictures.
Wow. The pictures look like you guys went to Hawaii!
other than the hike that i did on the wilderness trail in the grand canyon of yosemite a while back, i would say that this is a very adventurous hike with a variety of good views along the way. And of course, the beach and waterfall at the destination was a great reward for the 4 mile hike. by the way, eating the vietnamese sandwich with the view of the pacific ocean in front of me was awesome.
i really enjoyed the long hike because i got to talk to many new friends along the way. i got to talking about environmental issues, computer science, raising up a child, christianity, etc. i hope that i can continue the new friendships with the people i met on the trip.
