Ahhhh, graduation…If you’re in grad school, it might seem like this day may never arrive, but when it comes, you’ll end up wondering, “How did it go by so fast?” This year, we’re celebrating the graduations of a large number of IGSM members (12 in all!), many of whom have been with us for all 2, 5, 6 or even 8 years of grad school. For each one, and for us too, it’s a time to praise God for his faithfulness in bringing them through all of the challenges of grad student life. Many of them shared their testimonies of how God sustained them and helped them to grow closer to him during grad school. Congratulations to all of our 2012 grads!

To start off this exciting summer season, we will have our first ever IGSM Summer Camp during the 7/20-7/22 weekend at Sierra Lodge. The theme for the camp is “Reasonable Faith” and we will address important topics regarding Christianity, including the existence of God, the Genesis accounts of how the world was created, the problem of Sin, and the evidence for Jesus’ resurrection. If you are interested in learning about these issues, you are more than welcome to join the camp!

We interviewed different people from diverse walks of life, asking them about their idea of how the world was made, whether God exists, and who Jesus is. During the summer camp, we will examine these questions and take a look at what the Bible says regarding these issues.

Each of our summer camp sessions will be provided in lecture format, followed by open discussion time for each topic. In addition to these sessions, we will have many fun activities such as hiking, kayaking, basketball, and campfire time, all in the beautiful scenery of the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

We will be continuing our Bible studies through the Gospel of Mark in the upcoming weeks. We will start with dinner at 6:30 pm at First Presbyterian Church in Berkeley. Please be sure to visit our website again soon for the room location and to see updates!

We will be having separate Bible studies this Friday for the brothers and sisters. The brothers will be meeting at Cedar House (located at 2135 Cedar St), and the sisters will be meeting at Sara’s House in Alameda. Rides for sisters Bible study will be provided from Barrows Hall at 6:15pm on Friday.

After the Bible studies, the brothers will be playing glow-in-the-dark frisbee and the sisters will have a sleepover and late-night fun activities at Sara’s house, so don’t miss out!

Come join us for Bible study through the Gospel of Mark, followed by a trip to the city of San Francisco! Please note the change in the location for Bible study to Mears A/B. Enjoy your week and we hope to see you there!
