The focus of this four-week course is to improve your English listening and comprehension skills through talking about current events. You will have opportunities to read magazine articles and listen to radio clips about events happening in the US and internationally, and then discuss them in small groups under the guidance of native speaker instructors.
We will draw from popular media sources, such as TIME Magazine and National Public Radio (NPR), providing you with resources to stay informed of current events while you are in America. This course will also provide you with practical tips and strategies on how to be a better listener and speaker in academic settings so you can improve your participation in the classroom and group meetings.

On Memorial Day weekend, IGSM will be going to Yosemite to view the beautiful outdoors. We will be leaving Friday evening (5/28) and returning back Monday (5/31) and staying at nice houses near Yosemite for three nights (note the extended dates). During those three days, we will go hiking and just enjoy each others company with lots of good food and laughs. The cost of the trip will be $100 (increase in price because staying one night longer then initially posted), which includes food, housing and transportation.
