This lesson takes us to the southeast sector of the Truth compass for a tour of the socialsphere that Dr. Tackett characterizes as the heart and soul of Christianity: the Mystical Union (Latin, Unio Mystica) between God and man. Here, in the most intimate and profoundly mysterious sphere of the “Intimate Three” (family, church, and the God-man relationship), we have the privilege of pondering exactly what it is that Christ has purchased for us at the price of His precious blood shed on the cross for our sins: not simply salvation from hell, but an invitation into the Godhead itself, where we may experience the incomprehensible wonder of oneness with the Creator of the universe.

International Graduate Student Ministry (IGSM) is an official graduate student group at UC Berkeley. IGSM started in the fall of 2003 with the vision to help all UC Berkeley graduate students from various countries (including students from the United States) find out the true meaning and purpose of their lives through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Many of us also attend Gracepoint Berkeley, where Pastor Ed and Kelly Kang lead the ministry.
I have to say that the Truth Project series is growing on me. I had initially thought that listening to an hour long video lecture every Sunday morning would be kind of dry, but the material is quite engaging. This turn to “sociology” was kind of intellectually shocking after spending a couple of weeks on “natural science,” requiring a kind of different mode of thinking, but it is an area close to home that any worldview should address.
Dr. Tackett’s talk and his passion about passing Christian worldview to next generation are amazing.
I wish more students would come to listen to this lecture this Sunday. Spread Words!
